At some point, we need to realize that some jobs only exist to keep people busy and to find an excuse to give them enough money to just keep coming back to work. What happens when we just make the jump and replace people with machines, like the self-checkouts that are increasingly prevalent in grocery stores? Could we give them enough money to pay their bills so they can dream up solutions to bigger problems?
